    2. Information We Collect

    Account Information

    Your email address and password. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

    Credit Report Data

    If you choose to share credit report content with us, we process the text to help identify potential errors. We do not store your credit score, Social Security number, or full account numbers. We do not send correspondence to credit bureaus on your behalf.

    Review Results

    The AI-generated summary of potential errors found in your report.

    Usage Data

    Standard analytics such as pages visited, features used, and timestamps.

    Payment Information

    CreditHound is free to consumers and does not collect payment information. We never charge you and never process consumer payments.

    3. How We Use Your Information

    • To help identify potential errors on your credit report.
    • To connect you with FCRA attorneys in our partner network when attorney review may be appropriate; attorneys independently evaluate whether legal claims exist and, if they take the matter, handle any dispute correspondence.
    • To improve our review accuracy and service quality.
    • To communicate with you about your account and review results.

    We do NOT:

    • Sell your personal information to third parties.
    • Use your credit report data for marketing purposes.
    • Share your information with credit bureaus, lenders, or data brokers.

    4. Data Sharing

    Attorney Partners

    If our AI flags possible FCRA-related issues and you consent, we share relevant analysis results with attorneys in our network so they can independently evaluate whether legal claims may exist. Attorneys are bound by attorney-client privilege.

    CreditHound may receive marketing fees from participating law firms for marketing and advertising services. These fees do not affect your access to CreditHound's free analysis, whether a law firm accepts your matter, or your legal rights.

    Legal Requirements

    We may disclose information if required by law or valid legal process.

    We will never share your raw credit report PDF with anyone.

    5. Data Security

    • Data is transmitted between your browser and our servers over standard HTTPS.
    • Credit report PDFs are used for analysis and removed from active storage after processing.
    • Our database uses row-level security — each user can only access their own data.
    • Reports are stored in private, per-user folders with strict access controls.
    • We do not currently hold any third-party security certifications and make no SOC 2, HIPAA, "bank-level," or similar claims about our own systems.

    6. Data Retention

    • Account data: retained while your account is active.
    • Review results: retained for 2 years.

    You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.

    7. Your Rights

    • Access: View all data we have about you in your dashboard.
    • Deletion: Request complete deletion of your account and data.
    • Portability: Download your review results.
    • Opt-out: Opt out of attorney referrals at any time.

    California Residents: You have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know, delete, and opt-out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell your data, but you retain this right.

    • CreditHound is not a credit repair organization (CRO) as defined under the Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA).
    • Our AI analysis is informational and does not constitute legal advice.
    • We do not guarantee any specific outcome from disputes or legal actions.
    • We do not promise to improve your credit score.

    9. Children's Privacy

    CreditHound is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

    10. Changes to This Policy

    We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email. Continued use of CreditHound after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
