About CreditHound

CreditHound exists because credit reports are full of errors and most people never find out until it costs them a job, an apartment, or a loan. Studies by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the FTC have repeatedly found that roughly one in five American consumers has a meaningful mistake on at least one of their three credit reports. Those mistakes rarely fix themselves.

We are a free consumer tool, not a credit repair organization. We help people read their own credit reports, spot likely errors, and send properly formatted disputes to Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The FCRA gives every consumer the right to accurate credit information, the right to dispute anything they believe is wrong, and the right to sue when a bureau or furnisher refuses to fix a proven error.

When a dispute is ignored or a furnisher keeps reporting the same error after being notified, our partner law firms may be able to take the case at no cost to the consumer under the FCRA's fee-shifting provisions. You are never obligated to hire them, and CreditHound never charges you for a referral, a dispute letter, or a case review.

Our team combines consumer credit policy expertise with modern AI to translate long, confusing reports into plain English and to draft accurate, bureau-ready dispute letters. Everything we do is aimed at one goal: giving ordinary consumers the same leverage the credit bureaus already have.
